London Hydro Entrusts Itron Software to Streamline Back-office Processes

Early Adoption of Meter Data Management System to Simplify Operations and Enable Time-Of-Use Rates

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — Dec. 7, 2010 — Itron Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI) announced today that London Hydro, located in London, Ontario, has contracted for the implementation of Itron Enterprise Edition™ Meter Data Management (IEE MDM) as its local data analysis and storage repository to realize the benefits of its smart meter infrastructure.

London Hydro will deploy Itron’s software as an SAP meter data unification and synchronization (MDUS) solution, whereby it is fully integrated with SAP’s AMI billing solution—resulting in a faster time to implement. In addition, to ensure seamless coordination of data synchronization and data transfer, Itron’s software will normalize data from data collection systems to enable time-of-use rates.

“IEE MDM’s robust functionality coupled with Itron’s participation with the SAP Lighthouse Council and pre-integration work with SAP made Itron the clear choice,” said Syed Mir, London Hydro’s director of programs.

“We look forward to partnering with London Hydro and SAP to help optimize utility business processes and provide a flexible platform for future requirements,” said Julie Hance, vice president of software solutions for Itron North America.
